HIGHLIGHTS OF THE TOUR

Welcome to TIBET – a land so rich in culture and tradition steeped in religion along the far flung unique landscape, aptly called the Roof of the World. Let the age old Tibetan mysteries cast an enchanted spell on you which  hold you  in  thrill and excitement.

The first part of the tour takes you over the majestic Himalaya offering you the long cherished breathtaking view of the Himalayan range including MT EVEREST (8,848 m) by an hour long Trans-Himalayan flight from KATHMANDU to LHASA.

Potala Palace in Lhasa

The 2nd part brings you so close to the Shangri-la of TIBET making you feel yourself as being a part of a unique culture richly woven with legends, myths, rituals and festivals when you are in LHASA: cultural capital of TIBET, later en route to the border, GYANTSE & XIGATSE: central cultural centres.

The 3rd part is the focus of this tour. It takes you to one of the remote parts of Tibet for 5 days trekking from Ganden to Samye. Ganden Monastery is the home town of Gelugpa sect (yellow hat) and Samye Monastery is the 1st monastery in Tibet which was instrumental in introducing Buddhism in Tibet. The trek, although short, gives you the feeling of being in the real Tibet with small Tibetan villages, passes, lakes, meadows perfectly lying in between two major monasteries of Tibet: Ganden & Samye.

Ganden Monastery

During its last part, every descent right from Lalung La (pass of 5,050 m) starts telling you how high the plateau is along with the fascinating views of the incredible formation of the highest plateau of the world with awesomely beautiful rocks, cascades and canyons slightly hidden in the thin flying mists amidst the mighty presence of MT CHO OYU (8,201 m) & MT XISHAPAGMA (8,012 m).

In brief, your memories of this holiday in TIBET is enriched by the lingering impression of the most lavishly decorated huge monasteries & temples, saffron colored monks, ever smiling people with their typical lifestyle and above all, the challenging Himalayas.
